Warm wool knitwear

I really like the cut and color of this sweater. One small point to improve is the quality of the wool: it pills very quickly, even before the first wash... which suggests that this wool sweater won't stay beautiful for several years, which is a shame. The sizing is also strange; I'm 179cm tall and I ordered size 1, which fits me perfectly. However, how do people who are shorter than 179cm manage?
